Future Earth Lab hosts event at London Climate Action Week: Mapping and addressing Global South barriers to emerging carbon market opportunities

June 24th, 2025

Major opportunities are currently emerging in supply chain voluntary climate incentives, such as Scope 3 claims standards, value chain ‘insets’, and other new systems. However, many of these solutions are designed for the Global North, and many Global South stakeholders may struggle to meet the requirements of new guidelines and standards.

At London Climate Action week Future Earth Lab partnered with a range of expert organisations to launch a six month consultation process, to capture why Global South participation in these solutions is important, which barriers existing in current solutions, and how to ensure that Global South participation is prioritised by standard setting organisations in line with Climate Justice requirements.

This invite-only workshop set the direction for subsequent consultation activities. If you would like to join this consultation process, or be updated with its progress, please contact us here.
